How We Got Here

Since being established in 2020, Mega Boss Dad and Creepy Corey have been known for an unparalleled commitment to living up to the name...Anything Goes. It’s this standard of excellence that has provided the impetus for us to grow into the shit show we are today. Early in 2020, Mega Boss Dad was listening to some podcasts, and thought "This seems pretty fucking cool to do a show where you can say what you want about anything you want." He then decided to look into what it takes to do a podcast.

Surprisingly, it doesn't take much. A microphone and a way to record. Mega Boss Dad went on Amazon and bought a wicked cheap condenser microphone and started to try to think about what would be his focal topics. Not being able to find a specific one, he figured he wanted to be able to talk about anything, no limits, no censorship, and no politics. That's when the lightbulb lit: "Anything Goes...with Mega Boss Dad!"​

Of course, he was nervous about doing his first episode, not knowing where to start. He wanted someone to join him for his first episode to help break the ice and bounce around topics. He figured he would reach out to his friend Creepy Corey to join the episode. Creepy Corey was like “What the fuck is a podcast?” So Mega Boss Dad explained his vision of what he wanted to do. Creepy Corey said it sounds fun and he would do the episode.

So they did the first episode, Creepy Corey in his house and Mega Boss Dad at his house, COVID being new and all, couldn’t take chances. Creepy Corey had his Bluetooth headset one and they Zoomed in together and recorded the first ever episode. After the show, Mega Boss Dad asked Creepy Corey what he thought about it. Creepy Corey said he had a blast and wanted to do it more. Thus...Anything Goes...with Mega Boss Dad and Creepy Corey was born.

After several episodes, Creepy Corey came to the studio to do his first in person episode. Holy Shit, what a sound difference on his end. Now he was clear and it made the show flow even more with him being in person. He was using a shitty microphone that had a slight buzzing sound but it was so much better than the Bluetooth. So Mega Boss Dad decided that if they were going to keep going with this, there needs to be an investment. He invested in much better Dynamic microphones, mixing board, green screens (for the live show on YouTube), better cameras, and better software.

Now, over a year later, the show is always live on YouTube and later released to all the listening platforms. Our show has been steadily growing and is now listened to in 10+ countries. It’s funny to listen back to the beginning shows at the sound, visual and content quality and compare it to now. What a distance we have come and we stay true to our motto the entire time… “Anything Goes…”
